1. Shatter Me Series by Tahereh Mafi - Despite that I loved the original cover, I also absolutely loved the redone covers for the rest of the series. They are beautiful!!

2. The Grisha Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo - I thought the original covers for the trilogy were cool, but I also do love the redesign! I actually own the trilogy in the redesigned covers since I only started it last year and they are beautiful.

Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases of the Second Half of 2019

Ok, so I put the list in order of release date (which I'll also add for each). 

  1. Five Dark Fates (Three Dark Crowns #4) by Kendare Blake: September 3, 2019 - The Three Dark Crowns series rocked my world last year! I read the first book and became so interested in this story. I'm so excited for Five Dark Fates that I actually ordered the Five Dark Fates Special Edition Box from Beacon Book Box. And it comes out 5 days before my birthday! :D
  2. Eclipse The Skies (Ignite The Stars #2) by Maura Milan: September 3, 2019 - Ignite The Stars was one of my surprises of last year. I wasn't expecting a whole lot going in and ended up really loving it. And I'm so happy there's a sequel! If you like Sci-fi novels, definitely pick up Ignite The Stars before Eclipse The Skies comes out! You will not be disappointed! 
  3. The Girl The Sea Gave Back by Adrienne Young: September 3, 2019 - I fell in love with Sky In The Deep last year! I loved Adrienne Young's writing and storytelling. I knew I'd absolutely have to pick up the companion novel when I heard about it. I'm dying to see what kind of story she writes for Tova. 
  4. Capturing The Devil (Stalking Jack The Ripper #4) by Kerri Maniscalco: September 10, 2019 - So I've only read the first book of the series honestly, but I loved it! I have Hunting Prince Dracula on my Libby App and Escaping From Houdini already on my shelf so I just need to get them started now. I'm really looking forward to seeing how the story will go in Chicago and what the final outcome will be for Audrey and Thomas!
  5. Shatter City (Impostors #2) by Scott Westerfeld: September 17, 2019 - As you all know, I love Scott's Uglies series and just absolutely loved the first book in the spin-off from it Impostors. I'm just dying to get my hands on Shatter City (though I'm not the biggest fan of the title). I cannot wait to see whats going to happen next to Frey and Rafi!
  6. The Burning Shadow (Origin #2) by Jennifer L. Armentrout: October 8, 2019 - As you guys know, I've been forever a fan of Jennifer's Lux series. So I had to read the Origin spin off The Darkest Star and I loved it so much!!!! And I'm so freaking excited to see where this story is gonna go! The Darkest Star just dropped so many bombshells if you had read the Lux series beforehand, and it seems like The Burning Shadow is going to drop a few more! 
  7. Girls of Storm and Shadow (Girls of Paper and Fire #2) by Natasha Ngan: November 5, 2019 - So I actually haven't even finished Girls of Paper and Fire yet. But I have started it and I'm really liking it and can already tell I'll be wanting the next one! And look at that cover! It's freaking gorgeous! 
  8. Supernova (Renegades #3) by Marissa Meyer: November 5, 2019 - So as you guys remember, I was very skeptical about Renegades. I was not sure I'd like it but I gave it a chance and actually really enjoyed it. I'm not done with Archenemies yet, but I'm over halfway through it and I'm already enjoying it even more than I did Renegades. So I know I'm going to be wanting Supernova as soon as I'm done with it!
  9. The Queen of Nothing (The Folk of the Air #3) by Holly Black: November 19, 2019 - So I loved The Cruel Prince and even though I've only just started The Wicked King, I know 100% I'm gonna need this asap! And that cover is beautiful! 
  10. Children of Virtue and Vengeance (Legacy of Orïsha #2) by Tomi Adeyemi: December 3, 2019 - So this was on my first half of 2019 list, then it got pushed back to December, in which it now appears again! I freaking loved Children of Blood and Bone. It was one of my favorite overall reads of 2018 and it had such an amazing story! I CANNOT wait to get my hands on this because I NEED to know whats going to happen next!

  1. Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff - I just got approved for this on NetGalley last week and I'm FREAKING THRILLED. We all know how much I loved The Illuminae Files and I've just been dying for this. I'm trying so hard to finish my two current reads before picking this up. 
  2. King of Fools (The Shadow Game #2) by Amanda Foody - Another recent approval. And I'm really excited to dive into it ASAP cuz I really loved Ace of Shades as well. 
  3. Again, But Better by Christine Riccio - I'm incredibly curious about this since it's got some good feedback so far. 
  4. Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte - I've been dying to read this! It sounds really good. 
  5. Last of Her Name by Jessica Khoury - A retelling, or story based off of Anastasia in space!! Yes! I love Stories based off of Anastasia. That story is part of how my daughter got her name. 
  6. Defy Me (Shatter Me #5) by Tahereh Mafi - Um, HELLO. After the freaking ending of Restore Me I NEED THIS! 
  7. Finale (Caraval #3) by Stephanie Garber - Despite not liking Caraval at all, I actually did really like Legendary and the ending to it really made me want to read Finale. 
  8. A Question of Holmes (Charlotte Holmes #4) by Brittany Cavallaro - Haha, so I think we all know how much I love these books! I'm so excited to see where this is taking Charlotte and Jamie next!! :D :D 
  9. Soul In Darkness by Wendy Higgins - I love a good book based of mythology and I love Wendy Higgins writing! So I'm really excited to jump into this soon!
  10. Honor Among Thieves (The Honors #1) by Rachel Caine & Ann Aguirre - I've been wanting to read this for the past year and just finally got a copy since the kindle book was on sale. So I'm finally gonna read this soon! :D

Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Releases For The First Half of 2019

Ok, I had a hard time narrowing this down to 10. So I tried to narrow it down to mostly books I haven't talked much about yet minus the first one. 

1. The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air #2) by Holly Black - I loved The Cruel Prince and have been dying for The Wicked King since. I seriously cannot wait to see how things are going to go down after the way The Cruel Prince ended. 
2. Aurora Rising (The Aurora Cycle #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff - Guys, you know I fell in love with the Illuminae Files last year. After those books, I will literally buy any book these two write together no questions asked. 
3. Four Dead Queens by Astrid Scholte - This book just sounds amazing! We all know I love a great fantasy novel and this sounds like it'll be one. 
4. Children of Virtue and Vengeance (Legacy of Orisha #2) by Tomi Adeyemi - I was so blown away by Children of Blood and Bone last year. I avoided it for months because of the excessive hype and highly regret it. I finished the book in 3 hours. I loved the story so much. You can bet I'm going to be super grabby hands for this as soon as it hits the shelves. 
5. Nyxia Uprising (The Nyxia Triad #3) by Scott Reintgen - I've said it so much. Nyxia and Nyxia Unleashed haven't got nearly the amount of attention they deserve for how amazingly well written this sci-fi trilogy is! And if you read my review of Nyxia Unleashed, you know I'm dying for Uprising after that freaking ending. I need this book and I need it yesterday.

Top Ten Tuesday: Hidden Gems

  1. Nyxia (The Nyxia Triad #1) by Scott Reintgen - This is such an amazing sci-fi novel, but I don't see many people talking about it at all!!
  2. The House of One Thousand Eyes by Michelle Barker - This literally comes out today (9/11) and I can already tell it's not going to get much talking about. It's an amazing historical fiction novel and I HIGHLY suggest grabbing a copy. 
  3. Ignite The Stars (Ignite The Stars #1) by Maura Milan - Despite a lot of people getting an advanced copy when I did, I haven't seen much peepage about this book since. Its a great, quick sci-fi read!
  4. London (Surviving The Evactuation #1) by Frank Tayell - So I know why this doesn't have much of a following. Its self published. But it's incredibly good. Zombie outbreak occurs. We follow a guy who had broke his leg and is trying to hard to survive in zombie infested London. It's such a good read. 
  5. Leviathan (Leviathan #1) by Scott Westerfeld - Guys, the Uglies series gets so much love, but this sweet little historical/steampunk/sci-fi book doesn't get half as much. It needs the amount of love Uglies gets cuz its flat out amazing!
  6. Glitch (Glitch #1) by Heather Anastasiu - I thought this was a great sci-fi/dystopian mix read! It definitely was not talked about as much since it came out when books like Shatter Me and Article 5 were all the rage. So it kinda got buried being lesser known.
  7. Falling Under (Falling Under #1) by Gwen Hayes - I almost never see a peep about this book. Its such a great paranormal/fantasy/mystery type mix. It makes such a great read for October. I honestly feel like this isn't well known because it came from a less popular publisher at the time. 
  8. Dark Inside (Dark Inside #1) by Jeyn Roberts - This is a post apocalyptic/dystopian book. Natural disasters, people turning into crazy killers because of some unknown awoken evil. It was a great read, but not really talked about anymore. 
  9. The Alchemy of Forever (Incarnation #1) by Avery Williams - This is such a great little fantasy/mythology type book dealing with incarnation. I thoroughly enjoyed this book but it was talked about very little when it was published. Definitely deserves more people looking at it!
  10. Revenge of the Girl With The Great Personality by Elizabeth Eulberg - This was such a fun contemporary read for me! I read it because Elizabeth herself sold me on it during a panel at the book festival. But I see no mention of this book now. It's like it was talked about tons right around publication, then forgotten about. It's a fabulous contemporary read!

So I'm gonna start with Elementary up through High School. I'll just list some of the books/series I picked up while I was in school. So it kinda jumps from Elementary school reads to High School. I kinda had a lull in Middle School. 

1. The Heartland Series by Lauren Brooke - I loved these books in Elementary school. I was always checking them out and buying them from the book fairs.

2. The Baby-Sitters Club by Ann M. Martin - The better question is who didn't read these as kids?? I was obsessed with these too!

So for this one I'm gonna split this between my favorite Book Bloggers and Booktubers. Now don't get up in arms. I love a lot more people than just on this list! In fact, I keep a constant roll of book bloggers I love on my sidebar. I also follow a lot more booktubers than this. These are all just some of my faves!

1. AJ @ Read All The Things! - AJ is such a great person. She's definitely one of the more active bloggers I see. I see her comment on so much including a lot of my own stuff. Much love for that! But she also posts some amazing content on her own blog and one of my all time favorite blog posts to date happens to be her A Brief List of Oddities Discovered In My Email post!

2. Angelica @ Paperback Princess - We have very similar tastes in books. I love how sometimes we end up getting the same books the same week as well. And I don't mean new releases. I mean older books as well. Like this past week we both bought Before She Ignites by Jodi Meadows. It's kinda funny to see a blogger on the other side of the world so similar to me. We both also have toddlers and often have conversations about them. Lol.

Top Ten Tuesday: Popular Books That Lived Up To The Hype

Popular Books That Lived Up To The Hype

Some are recent books, some go back a few years.

1. A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR #1) by Sarah J. Maas  - So this actually stands for the series as a whole. I had this sitting on my shelf for a while and avoided it like the plague for fear of it not living up to the hype. OMG. I can't believe I let it sit so long! This series is legit one of my favorite series EVER now. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this series! I loved the world building, the fae, Rhysand & Feyre. ACOMAF is my favorite out of all the books but this series. It definitely lived up to the hype  built around it!

2. An Ember In The Ashes (An Ember In The Ashes #1) by Sabaa Tahir - Same with #1. This goes for the whole series so far. I was never pulled into this series with the other covers for some reason. But as Reapers release grew closer, the series was popping back up again EVERYWHERE. So I decided why not pick it up and see what all the hype is about?! OMG. Seriously. So good. I loved the world built in this too. The empire, the scholars, the martials. And the characters. Sabaa Tahir wrote every character so well! I was pulled into Laia's story so quickly. I was super curious with Elias since he wanted to escape and Helene grew on me the more I read about her and her story. It's just so well written overall.

Top Ten Tuesday: Favorite Novellas/Short Stories

Favorite Novellas/Short Stories

1. A Court of Frost and Starlight (ACOTAR #3.1) by Sarah J. Maas - So I know a lot of people didn't like this because it didn't really have a plot. But you know what, I liked it. I thought it was a fun little novella. I loved getting to see our favorites enjoying the solstice. I loved the cute annual tradition we find out about between Cassian, Azriel and Rhysand (snowball fight). I loved Feyre's gift to Rhys. I loved getting to see Feyre do art again and use it to help the community. I just really enjoyed this. 


2. Queen Song (Red Queen #0.1) by Victoria Aveyard - So despite the fact that I have many issues with the Red Queen series and the only book I actually really enjoyed from it was Red Queen itself, I did LOVE Queen Song. Its all about Cal's mother Coriane. I loved getting to see who Coriane was and getting to know her through this since we never actually get to meet her in the series. I loved seeing what she wanted for her son, I loved that her and Cal's father just fell in love and married despite the rules of the kingdom and not doing Queenstrial. But it definitely also made me sad because we see what Elara does just to get her hands on the crown to put her disgusting plan with her future son into action.

Top Ten Tuesday: Best Books I've Read In 2018 So Far

Best Books I’ve Read In 2018 (So Far)

1. A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) by Sarah J. Maas - I absolutely loved this book and it by far is my favorite of the series! I just love all the twists and turns and emotions in ACOMAF! I wasn't expecting to fly through this book when I started it (its pretty big), but I read it in about a day/day and a half. The fae story line, Feyre, Rhysand, the Night Court, Velaris. Everything about this book just kept me wanting more. I just love how SJM wrote this book (and series).


2. A Reaper At The Gates (An Ember In The Ashes #3) by Sabaa Tahir - I just started this series in May, so just in time for Reaper to come out. Guys. Reaper seriously shattered bits of my heart. Everything with Elias and his storyline throughout the book. How his storyline is at the ending made me so sad with what it involved him doing. Ah. hurt heart. And Laia and the certain person she finds and then has to lose by the end of the story. Ah. Again, my heart. The feels guys. But this book genuinely made me love Helene finally. I was never her biggest fan, but her actions and growth in Reaper really transformed by view of her.
