Stacking The Shelves is hosted by Tynga's Reviews and Reading Reality as a way to share all the books we got during the week!
The Sunday Post is hosted by Kimberly @ Caffeinated Reviewer. Its a weekly post to showcase what books you got, recap the week, and talk about what will be coming up this week on the blog!
So it's been a week. Lets start with Sunday. I'm sure a lot of you have heard about the sexual harassment news. I am incredibly angry over it. I'm leaving it at that. I have so many reasons why I'm angry but that really needs to be in its own post because its long. But I stand with the victims. That is certain.
In other news, this describes my week perfectly:
I really wanted to get more posted this week. As you can tell, a lot of cover reveals happened, but those were easy posts to whip up. I had planned on reading and getting at least 2 reviews up. Unfortunately, that was thwarted by a 4 day migraine. From Monday through Thursday I had a pounding, aching head. I couldn't focus, do much reading, or much of anything involving a lot of moving around. Yesterday finally gave me much needed relief from it and I'm grateful.
On top of that, Windows 10 Updates broke my laptop again. It now won't install the most recent update. So somethings errored in that area. Its getting slow again. It won't repair with the repair program. I'm so frustrated. I wish I could just install James version of Windows 8 from his desktop on my laptop and never deal with Windows 10 again. It's a plague and a nuisance and I'm over it. I've never had an operating system break so much with their updates!
Two Dark Reigns (Three Dark Crowns #3) by Kendare Blake
As She Ascends (Fallen Isles #2) by Jodi Meadows
People Kill People by Ellen Hopkins
Lost (House of Night Otherworld #2) by P.C. & Kristin Cast
Frozen Reign (Burning Glass #3) by Kathryn Purdie
Lots of awesome cover reveals this week! If you haven't seem some of them, check them out! So many gorgeous covers!

Review of Warcross by Marie Lu
Also, if you guys don't mind, take a quick second and answer my poll. I plan on having a read-a-long of a YA dystopian book in April as part of the Dystopia Challenge, but I do plan on opening up the read-a-long itself to anyone who wants to participate, whether you do the challenge or not. So if you'd be interested in a read-a-long let me know what book you'd like to read with me! And if it's not on the list, I have a special option for you to write in an answer! Whichever option gets the most votes (whether one I put on the list or a write in) will be the book that gets read!

Believe me, I definitely appreciate those of you that share it even if you don't sign up. :D
My Windows 10 did the EXACT same thing as yours two months ago and now when I turn it on the whole thing freezes for like 10 minutes. I miss when it used to be Windows 7, it worked so much better. This is a complete mess.
ReplyDeleteI heard about the scandal too from Twitter. I'd just come back from a 4 year break and this was NOT the news I wanted to hear, especially as twp of the authors in question used to be my on my list of favourites. Has John Green said anything yet? He was almost suspiciously quiet.
Vee @ Under The Mountain
Seriously! Windows 10 is just awful! Whoever thought it was a good idea clearly didn't actually use the system long term. Windows 7 was amazing and Windows 8 has yet to do my fiance wrong. I'll take either over 10 anyday.
DeleteI came back from a 3 year hiatus last October, so definitely not news I was thrilled hearing in the few months I've been back. I saw at least 3 authors I've loved books from and followed for years and it just angers me they would do stuff like this. I'm not sure if he has. I've yet to hear anything if he has. Agreed.
I'm so sorry about the migraines. I have them too and they are truly awful. I am doing the Take Control Challenge in March, too. I really need to make a dent in my TBR. Good luck with your challenge.
ReplyDeleteMigraines seriously suck! Both me and my fiance suffer from them. We really feel for anyone who suffers as well. Woot!!! Me as well!!! I have so many books on the TBR and I really wanna get that knocked down some!!!
DeleteThe London series sounds great. I hope next week will get better and I am really sorry about the migraines. Happy reading and good luck with the challenge!
ReplyDeleteAndreea @ cheekylines.wordpress.com
I agree. It does. I heard about it on some other blogs and then saw the kindle books on sale so I grabbed them. Lol. I hope so. And its ok. I'm used to them, just rarely have them that long. Usually I only have one for maybe 2 days. Thanks!!!
DeleteI’m upset about the harassment stuff, too. Why can’t people just be nice and non-creepy with each other? It’s not hard. Sorry you had to deal with migraines. Headaches are the worst.
ReplyDeleteAj @ Read All The Things!
Seriously!!! I genuinely don't understand why its so hard to not act like that. Like just be a friendly person without being sexual!!! It's really really not hard. People do it literally every day. Its ok. They are!!! I honestly think my headaches are so bad cuz of living in Arizona. I've gone other places in the US and never got them as bad or often as I do living in AZ.
DeleteThose stupid updates also ruined my computer. So annoying... I've heard that if you set a metered connection, it won't install updates. Which actually sounds good.. I should try it.
ReplyDeleteLol. I'm not completely disappointed that the last update screwed up the update things. Every time my computer tries to install the latest cumulative update it just goes through a loop and fails. I'm not disappointed in the least. I just wanna know how the updates managed to error things for future updates. Like how do you manage that??? LOL
DeleteI'm glad your migraine has finally subsided, Brittani. It must be totally exhausting.
ReplyDeleteThose windows updates making my computer go slow and weird is why I switched to Mac, frankly. I just couldn't deal with it anymore... I hope you'll figure out what's going on, and that your pc will work the way it's supposed to again.
Have a wonderful week ahead and happy reading.
Lexxie @ (un)Conventional Bookviews
Thanks! I honest to god am so close to switching to Mac. Windows 10 is slowly destroying my laptop. I'm pretty sure its the cause of why my fiances laptop flat out crashed. Ugh! I've never had problems like this with any Mac I've used.
DeleteSorry to hear about your migraine. I too suffer from migraines, the medicine helps but I try not to take it all that much, it makes me so sleepy. I have an all in one computer with Windows 10, I'm not a fan of it at all. I miss my Windows 7! The London Belongs series looks good. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you suffer from them too! All the feels! I had some meds specifically for migraines but ran out. :( So just regular aspirin for now, which is hit or miss. Windows 10 sucks!! I really miss 7 and 8. Thanks!
DeleteI loathe windows 10!! Such a giant pain. Sorry about the migraines. Those are the worst! Hope this week is better!
ReplyDeleteIt is! I've never hated an operating system as much as I hate 10. They are! So far so good. Since Friday I've been migraine free so I'm hoping it continues into the week!
DeleteI'm so glad I didn't upgrade to Windows 10, I've heard such bad things about it.
ReplyDeleteThe Dystopian read along sounds like fun. I voted and look forward to joining in!
Hope you have a great week! ~Aleen
I envy you not upgrading!!! My laptop came with 10 installed out of the box. :( My fiance decided against the upgrade for his desktop and he's still happily running Windows 8 with zero issues. He did upgrade his laptop to 10 and it crashed. His laptop was literally indestructible in every way. Then 10 hit and just destroyed it. Never upgrade to 10 if you can help it!!!!
DeleteWoot!!! I'm so excited you'll be joining in!! :D
I hope you enjoy your London series. They look good. I have to go check them out. I am part of the march challenge. Happy reading!
ReplyDeleteMary #SundayRoundup
Woot! Good luck to you on your goals for the March TBR challenge! I hope I enjoy the London series too! I saw them a few weeks ago blog hopping and they sounded so good. SO here's to hoping I enjoy them!!! :D
DeleteI liked Warcross by Marie Lu and can't wait to see how the story continues. I know a lot of people that hate Windows 10 and I think I have it at work, no option to avoid it there.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great week!
I enjoyed Warcross as well! I'm excited to get my review up for it. Lol. I swear like every one I know hates Windows 10 as much as me. It's just so bad all around. That sucks! My laptop came with it preinstalled out of the box so I didn't really get a choice in avoiding it. Cuz I would have if I could have!! Lol. Thanks! I hope you have a great week as well!
DeleteI've heard good things about the London series so hopefully you'll enjoy it. I am still working on Windows 7 so I figure Ill just keep going with it. Those updates sound awful.
ReplyDeleteI hope I enjoy it too!!! I'm so jelly of you having Windows 7 still! Definitely just keep that. Or if you have to, only go up to 8. 8 has some issues, but it runs like a dream compared to 10. I'll take 7 or 8 any day over 10. Avoid 10 at all costs!!! 10 as an operating system is bad to begin with, but the updates just make it so much worse!!
DeleteGlad you got the London series! I hope you enjoy them!
ReplyDeleteHere’s my Sunday Post!

I'm super glad I got the series too! I'm excited to jump into it!! I hope I enjoy them as well!
DeleteThe covers of the London series are super adorable. I hate those pesky updates!!
ReplyDeleteGayathri @ Elgee Writes
Sorry about the migraine! I hope you are still migraine-free!
ReplyDeleteHave a good week!
