On Lily Sanderson’s eighteenth birthday she’ll become just a girl—still a mergirl, true, but signing the renunciation will ink Princess Waterlily of Thalassinia out of existence. That leaves plain old Lily living on land, dating the boy she loves, and trying to master this being-human thing once and for all.

Now that Lily and Quince are together, mer bond or not, she’s almost content to give up her place in the royal succession of Thalassinia. But just when she thinks she has everything figured out, the waves start to get rough. Lily’s father sends a certain whirlpool-stirring cousin to stay with her on land. What did Doe do to get herself exiled from Thalassinia and stuck in terraped form, when everyone knows how much she hates humans? And why why why is she batting her eyelashes at Lily’s former crush, Brody?

The seafoam on the raging surf comes when a merboy from Lily’s past shows up—Tellin asks Lily for something that clouds her view of the horizon. There’s a future with Quince on land, her loyalty to the kingdom in the sea, and Lily tossing on the waves in the middle. Will she find a way to reconcile her love, her duty, and her own dreams?

Review: This is a fantastic sequel to Forgive My Fins! This book got down to business. It wasn't all magic and fairy tales like the first book. Lily really starts to question whether her choice to give up her crown on her 18th birthday is the right one. Her relationship with Quince definitely comes out of the honeymoon phase. Her cousin Dosinia shows up causing havoc on Lily's already stressful life. And Brody! Brody & Doe! What?!?!?! Then Tellin shows up offering Lily the chance to keep her kingdom and Quince. Man. This book was like a roller coaster for Lily! I felt so bad for her. I think a lot of us know its already pretty stressful trying to prepare for college all by itself. But then having to deal with your mermaid kingdom, your unruly cousin and all the chaos she brings into your life. I cant imagine it! Quince was such a great guy about everything though for the most part. He helped Lily through so much and even though he kinda went overboard near the end when he blew up on Lily for the secret about losing her kingdom, he still decided that being there for her and being with her was more important than losing her over a stupid fight. :) Yay!! I love Lily & Quince!

Oh My God! Freaking Doe! I seriously could not believe her! First she shows up and makes a huge mess of Lily's already hectic life, but then she goes and bonds with Brody!! What!?!?! I'll admit it. It wasn't a bad thing in the end that she did, since she's still with him and it actually taught her to love someone. But I was steaming in the beginning when she did that. But seriously. Doe and Brody!?! I was a little shocked at first on that one. But they ended up being good for each other. Now. Tellin. I felt like all he was doing was putting pressure on Lily to bond with him just to save his kingdom. I mean he wouldn't give up. I mean in the end, Lily did bond with him to help him save his kingdom but I really wish he wouldn't have been so dang pushy about it!

With all that was set up in this book I can't wait to read the conclusion of this series Just For Fins!

5 Stars!
