2018 End of Year Survey

**2018 READING STATS**

Number Of Books You Read: 103
Number of Re-Reads: 4
Genre You Read The Most From: Young Adult Fantasy (seriously, it was overwhelmingly the year of catching up on all the fantasy novels.)

1. Best Book You Read In 2018?
(If you have to cheat — you can break it down by genre if you want or 2018 release vs. backlist)

Fantasy - A Court of Mist and Fury (ACOTAR #2) by Sarah J. Maas. I mean, I got my tattoo based on the book. So clearly I have a lot of love for it!
Contemporary - A Very Large Expanse of Sea by Tahereh Mafi
Sci-Fi - Definitely a tie between Illuminae (The Illuminae Files #1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff and Nyxia Unleashed (The Nyxia Triad #2) by Scott Reintgen
Dystopian - Ignite Me (Shatter Me #3) by Tahereh Mafi I mean, I finally jumped to team Warner so. Yeah. Plus Juliette is the ultimate badass by the end of it!

2. Book You Were Excited About & Thought You Were Going To Love More But Didn’t?
Tie between Warcross (Warcross #1) by Marie Lu and Caraval (Caraval #1) by Stephanie Garber. Both were just so hyped up and fell flat for me. Warcross was VERY predictable to me and I just didn't enjoy Caraval. I am REALLY not a fan of Scarlett!

3. Most surprising (in a good way or bad way) book you read?
Good Way - Renegades (Renegades #1) by Marissa Meyer
Bad Way - Caraval (Caraval #1) by Stephanie Garber

So more book mail from Scholastic this week! Thanks Scholastic! I actually squealed a little when I opened the package with Last of Her Name! I've actually been super excited about it and even thought about requesting the ARC. So I'm really happy I got one unsolicited. It's a retelling inspired by Anastasia but set in space! For those of you who don't know, the whole Anastasia legend is part of  how my daughter got her name. So I'm super into things based on it! :D

2018 Dystopia Reading Challenge: December Link-Up

Welcome to the December Link-Up for the 2018 Challenge! Wow. It's the last month of the year! Sign-Ups for 2019's Challenge are up. I hope we all had a good reading year!

Each month you can link-up your reviews of dystopia challenge books. I hope it'll help you keep up with your goals! Linking up your dystopia challenge reviews also helps to let everyone see whats being read and to help others find new books! I know I read some of my favorite dystopia books based on seeing recommendations and reviews of them! You could possibly help someone find their new favorite book! :D

LINK-UP GUIDELINES

  • Link up your book reviews under "Review Link-up" as follows: Name of book @ Your blog name, Goodreads, Shelfari, Booklikes, etc.
  • Although I won't make it mandatory, I'd love it if you would comment on other reviews posted in the link up! Its a great way to get everyone involved and talking!

November Wrap-Up & December TBR

So November wasn't that great of a month for me. Not much reading got done. I was pretty busy with holiday planning and birthday party planning. But also as the end of the month came around my depression really started to set in. The past week or so has been really hard on me and thus far, it hasn't got much better. It takes time for me to come out of a bout of depression when it sets in like it has. But I'm here, and I still want to socialize with you guys. I'm just not promising a lot of reviews for December. Sometimes I get lost in reading when I'm depressed, sometimes I can't focus on it for the life of me. So we'll see how things go.

What I Read This Month:

This was my only Black Friday sale buy. I technically bought it during the weekend sales but still. Newly released hardcover 50% off and an extra 10% off with membership. Only paid $8.99 for it! What a steal!!! I'm really excited to read this! I was so surprised with how much I actually enjoyed Renegades, so I'm looking forward to seeing the next part of this story!
