Question:
Do you read hardcovers with the dust jacket on or off? Why or why not? (submitted by Maria @ A Night's Dream of Books)
Answer:
On. Reason number 1 being that I just always have. Lol. Reason number 2 being that I have a toddler who likes to take things and color on them or hide them in her room. I think the dust jackets are safer just staying on the book while I read them. Lol.
Oh my...you do have a problem. :) LOL!!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your answer today.
Yeah. Lol. Toddlers! No prob!
DeleteAw man I never thought about kids taking dust jackets. That seems like a pretty logical reason to keep them on haha! Thanks for sharing :) have a great weekend!

Right! Its a problem you don't realize you have until you have kids and it happens to you! Lol. So long as they stay on the book, my daughter doesn't bother. Lol. No prob! You too!
DeleteLOL! I know what it's like for kids to just color on anything they can get their hands on!

Oh yeah. The walls in my daughters bedroom attest to that. LOL. I clean them but somehow she keeps coloring them again when I don't notice. At least its not nearly as bad as it used to be. Buying a lot of coloring books helped with that. Lol!
DeleteYes, I leave them on too. Happy Hopping.
ReplyDeleteWoot! I'm not the only one! Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI'd hand the dust jacket to my toddler with some wipe clean pens. It'll keep them distracted while you read and it'll come off! They're always nice and glossy and cleanable... ;-)
ReplyDeleteP.s - Don't worry, I don't have a toddler. :)
Lol. The problem with my daughter is she tends to take all her washable stuff and mix it with her non washable. And then I never know what she uses!!! LOL. If she would just use washable stuff that'd be so much easier to deal with!!!! Thanks for stopping by! :)
DeleteI keep them on too, and for exactly the same reasons! Toddlers have a way of destroying everything you're trying to keep nice.
ReplyDeleteYes!!!!! Lol. I can't even count the amount of things my daughter had either broke or colored on to the point of non-use anymore. Toddlers man! You really gotta stay on top of them. Lol. I've definitely come to live by the whole "silence is golden, except when you have a toddler" phrase.
DeleteI leave them on, too. I have always left them on. I have kids who like to take them, draw on them, lose them, etc. And I like using the flap as a bookmark.
ReplyDeleteYes! My daughter is the main reason I leave them on. I have no doubt I'd never see them again or they would be colored to death if she got her hands on them. Lol.
