Madly is your average nearly-eighteen year old girl—for a princess, that is.

Madly James is thoroughly enjoying her internship in the small town of Slumber when the unthinkable happens—there’s a prison break in Atlas, the magically-protected home of Madly’s race. A traitor has set free eight Lore, the spirits of what humans know as fairy tales, and they are making their way to Slumber to awaken their descendants.

In order to save her home, the lives of her family, and all of humanity, Madly must learn to wield her exceptional powers and recapture the Lore before it’s too late and all is lost. But Madly’s only help are her two best friends and the Sentinel, Jackson Hamilton, that threatens both her heart and her destiny. Madly has loved Jackson as long as she can remember, but he is the one thing even a princess can’t have. Can she resist love to become the queen she was fated to be? Or can she find a way to have both?

This novelette introduces you to Madly and prepares you for the quest of a lifetime

Review: This was such a great novella. It gave you a a fantastic introduction to Madly (herself), and her world. It also gave us a great intro to the characters as well. And while also providing the right amount of background and intro on everyone, it also kept you hooked with the events going on and making you want to read more!

I really enjoyed getting to know Madly! I liked her right from the start. I love how she's not exactly keen on following the rules. Lol. And I must admit, she has some creative ideas on how to get what she wants when she's breaking the rules. And her friends support those rule breaking ideas. They jumped right on bored for it. What surprised me though was the fact that Jackson even got on bored with the idea with how set he was on following the rules. But I completely understood why Madly wanted to go to such lengths to get information. She wanted to save her parents and her sister, and she couldn't do that without figuring out how to capture the escaped Lore's. And to do that she needed to know the Lore's descendants or the descendants of the person the Lore originally went after. Did I mention the Lore's a spirit of a fairytale (or what we consider a fairytale) character? Just thought I'd throw that in.

I really want to know who the traitor is that set the Lore free! Especially since its put out there that the traitor could very well be of royal blood which would definitely make things very interesting!

I really enjoyed this whole thing with Madly and Jackson. It's like you can totally tell they both have a thing for each other (despite how much Madly would rather be having feelings for the person she's supposed to be mated to). You could tell, in the few moments Jackson looked at her when they were alone, that the desire for Madly was there. I can't say anything bad against Aidan (the person Madly's supposed to be mated to) because he definitely seems like a good guy, it's just kinda obvious that Madly doesn't have the same feelings as he does. I definitely can't wait to see more Jackson and Madly moments (at least that's what I'm hoping for) in the next books!

4 Stars!
