Follow Friday is a weekly meme hosted by Parajunkee and Alison Can Read. Its a way to get out there and meet new bloggers and discover new blogs. :)

*Just a note, if you choose to follow me I'd prefer you follow through GFC and/or Email. Thanks!*

Q. Do your reading habits change based on your mood? Do you read a certain genre if you are feeling depressed or happy?

They do. I tend to read more depressing books when I'm depressed. And when I'm happy I tend to go on a contemporary kick. :)

TGIF is hosted by Ginger at GReads. There's a weekly question and then we do a re-cap of the weeks posts.

Q. Book Olympics: In the spirit of the Olympics, which books would you give the gold, silver, and bronze medals to? It can be from any genre, new or old.

I'd definitely give Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins a gold medal, along with Insurgent by Veronica Roth, & Dearly, Departed by Lia Habel. I'd give a silver medal to books like Matched by Ally Condie, Nightshade by Andrea Cremer & Cold Kiss by Amy Garvey. I'd give a bronze medal to books like Fifty Shades of Grey by E L James, The Hunter's Moon by O.R. Melling & The Goddess Test by Aimee Carter.

  5. Hi Brittani! Hopping Through! We're total opposites. When I'm depressed, I stay as far away as possible from a depressing book.

  6. Great answer this week! I actually read books completely separate from my mood. I choose a book and hope that it will, essentially change my mood in the end, if that makes sense!

Have a brilliant weekend! I'm your newest follower :)

  9. I can totally understand that you lean towards depressing books, although I don't pick my books according to my mood.

  11. For me I find my mood changes the genre that I want to read. I go through blocks where I only read one genre, then I randomly change to another one. But I don't find myself reading certain books because of the way I feel. Although I do find that the way I feel has an impact on how much I enjoy the book! So if I'm angry or sad I try and take a break from reading till I get over it :)
