New soul

Ana is new. For thousands of years in Range, a million souls have been reincarnated over and over, keeping their memories and experiences from previous lifetimes. When Ana was born, another soul vanished, and no one knows why.

No soul

Even Ana's own mother thinks she's a nosoul, an omen of worse things to come, and has kept her away from society. To escape her seclusion and learn whether she'll be reincarnated, Ana travels to the city of Heart, but its citizens are afraid of what her presence means. When dragons and sylph attack the city, is Ana to blame?

Heart

Sam believes Ana's new soul is good and worthwhile. When he stands up for her, their relationship blooms. But can he love someone who may live only once, and will Ana's enemies—human and creature alike—let them be together? Ana needs to uncover the mistake that gave her someone else's life, but will her quest threaten the peace of Heart and destroy the promise of reincarnation for all?

Jodi Meadows expertly weaves soul-deep romance, fantasy, and danger into an extraordinary tale of new life.

Review: I really enjoyed this book! I had no idea what to expect from this book based on the whole Newsoul/Nosoul thing. I loved the mystery behind why another soul vanished when Ana was born! It was so interesting. I also loved how this was more of a unique reincarnation novel. This one tackled the subject of souls disappearing and not coming back at all. I thought the whole thing with people hating Ana was not fair. It's not her fault she was born, she even said that straight out. And it's not like she meant for Ciana's soul to disappear! It just happened from what she knew of. And her mom! Her own mom thought she was a nosoul! How horrible is that? No one deserves to be treated like nothing from their own parents!

Sam! Ahhhhhh! I loved him. He didn't care that Ana was THAT Ana! He stood by her anyways and helped her when no one else would. He was such a sweetie! He even taught her music which she (and I) treasure! He was amazing taking her under his wing even though so many people hated it. I also loved how those close to him also gave Ana a chance and took her in. They were really amazing to her! I thought it was so messed up what happened at the end to them! You know the council only did that because of Ana's mom. I really disliked Ana's mom! She was just so rude! Acting like she cared and then saying really mean stuff to her own daughter when no ones looking! It was just so messed up. I was also shocked at the end when Ana's dad came back into the picture and then we find out what happened to make Ciana's soul disappear! And then Templedark! OMG! All that happened at the end makes me really excited for Asunder!!!

If you like reincarnation books you definitely need to read this!

4 1/2 Stars!
