2013 Reading Road Trip: Colorado

Hi everyone! Thanks for stopping by the Colorado stop of the Reading Road Trip!!! This is my first of two states I'm hosting (the other being Wyoming on Thursday)! Sorry its a bit late getting up (I haven't really been home that much to post lately). I've been pretty busy as of late so I haven't had the chance to really schedule much in advance!!!! But I'm here now, thats what counts!!! So thanks to Britta (I Like These Books) & Hafsah (IceyBooks) for hosting the Reading Road Trip!

About Colorado:

• Capital: Denver
• Nickname: Centennial State
• Motto: Nil Sine Numine - Nothing Without The Deity
• State Animal: Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep
• State Bird: Lark Bunting
• State Flower: White and Lavender Columbine
• State Songs: Where The Columbines Grow and Rocky Mountain High (I like that song) :)

Fun Facts:

• The largest flat-top mountain in the world is located in Colorado. It is known as Grand Mesa.
• Colorado means “colored red”(I didnt know that before)
• Colorado contains 75% of the land area of the U.S. with an altitude over 10,000 feet. 
• The United States Air Force Academy is located in Colorado Springs. 
• A strange state law that would seem common sense states that it is illegal for any person to throw a missile at a car. (LOL!)
