TBR Intervention Challenge [#30]

TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by Dani@RefractedLight, Anayami@Whatever You Can Still Betray & April@Books4Juliet.

The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.

Here are the rules:

1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).

2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.

3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.

4. Add the link to your post in the Linky below and make sure to visit the other blogs. Comment, encourage, and spread the love to our fellow readers.

Last weeks TBR book:
Struck (Struck #1)
Author: Jennifer Bosworth

I really enjoyed this! I loved the story about Mia being a lightning addict and the fight between the two groups trying to get Mia on their side. It was a pretty good story! I got my review written this time! Oh, and I'm also gonna link my review of Dearly, Departed since I didn't have it up last week for you. (And I'll even through in my link of my review of Insurgent so any of you that wanna fangirl with me over it can! Lol.)

This week I'm committing to read:
Fateful
Author: Claudia Gray

Blurb from Goodreads:
A tragic tale about falling in love on the world’s most infamous ill-fated sea voyage as heroine, Tess, discovers darker secrets that lie beneath the doomed crossing… and a hidden brotherhood that threaten to tear her lover from her forever.

The RMS Titanic is the most luxurious ship ever built, but for eighteen-year-old Tess Davies it’s a prison. Travelling as a maid for the family she has served for years, Tess is trapped in their employ amid painful memories and family secrets.

When she meets Alec, a handsome upper class passenger, Tess falls helplessly in love. But Alec has secrets of his own… and soon Tess is entangled in a dangerous game. A sinister brotherhood that will do anything to induct Alec into their mystical order has followed him onboard. And Tess is now their most powerful pawn.

Tess and Alec fight the dark forces threatening to tear them apart, never realising that they will have to face an even greater peril before the journey is over…

New York Times best-selling author Claudia Gray delivers adventure, dark paranormal suspense, alluring romance, and a truly surprise ending, set against the opulent backdrop of the Titanic's first — and last — voyage.

I've had Fateful on my shelf now for almost 6 months. I've been really wanting to read it, especially since I'm a sucker for anything Titanic related! FYI, Titanic is one of my fave movies ever. I cant wait to finally get into!

  4. What a great week! You got the reviews up, read your book... Ah, I'm almost jealous! :)

I hope you'll enjoy Fateful. I have a... thing about avoiding Titanic books, but I've heard it's good.

    Happy reading!

  5. Glad you enjoyed Struck... it was definitely a different kind of story :) I'm hoping there's a sequel.

And Fateful... yes, I love the story of Titanic. Was a HUGE Titanic nerd in highschool, plus I've enjoyed several of Claudia Gray's books in the past, so I'd love to see what she does with this story :)

    Hope you enjoy it!

  6. I missed you last week, sorry about that :( Both Faithful and Struck have amazing covers. They're truly gorgeous. I haven't read either yet myself. Fateful is part of a series right? I've been meaning to check out Claudia Gray's works for a while now but haven't yet done so, one of the books you plan to read but never get around to. Can't wait to hear what you think of it. :)
