For months part-angel Clara Gardner trained to face the raging forest fire from her visions and rescue the alluring and mysterious Christian Prescott from the blaze. But nothing could prepare her for the fateful decisions she would be forced to make that day, or the startling revelation that her purpose—the task she was put on earth to accomplish—is not as straightforward as she thought.

Now, torn between her increasingly complicated feelings for Christian and her love for her boyfriend, Tucker, Clara struggles to make sense of what she was supposed to do the day of the fire. And, as she is drawn further into the world of part angels and the growing conflict between White Wings and Black Wings, Clara learns of the terrifying new reality that she must face: Someone close to her will die in a matter of months. With her future uncertain, the only thing Clara knows for sure is that the fire was just the beginning.

Review: *Does include some spoilers* An amazing sequel to Unearthly! I read it in one day! I both loved and hated this book. I'm pretty sure people can guess why I hated it (death). I really enjoyed how we get to learn a lot more about the angels and what powers each kind of angel have (you know what I mean by kind right? like Dimidius, Quartarius, Triplare etc.) I also really enjoyed the new characters that were introduced, such as Clara's dad & Billy. The story also progressed pretty smoothly for me, like everything fit in with how things were introduced. Not to mention all the stuff revealed besides the angel-blood powers, WOW! So much happened!

First I wanna start off with Clara & her mom. First Clara learned from her friend Angela that angel-bloods only live 120 years, then she has to go home and deal with the fact her mom had just turned that same age! As if Clara didn't have enough on her plate, and then her mom! I felt so bad for her! Then she had all her Tucker/Christian issues! Ok, just to reinstate it here, I've been on Team Christian since Unearthly so there was no jumping teams like other people did (so don't accuse me of it). Now that that's clear... Lol. I honestly was getting kind of annoyed with all the Tucker stuff. I mean he's a great guy and everything but you seriously cant fight whats inevitably gonna happen. Not to mention, Christian became a lot more of a nicer guy in Hallowed. He tried so hard to be there for Clara and she just kept pushing him away, and sometimes she was being just plain rude to him over Tucker being a little jealous. I mean seriously, that shows how much Tucker really trusted his girlfriend (especially at prom! Seriously? You wont even let her dance with him or even have a fair choice on if she wants to???) I'm sorry, I'm just not really a Tucker fan. Moving on.. Clara's dad!!! OMG!!! We found out why he wasn't always in her life and what he is!!! OMG! I was so shocked by it! And then finding out that Clara & Jeffrey aren't exactly what they thought they were (I'm sorry, that's vague but I'm trying not to spoil this specific part for those who haven't read it)! And then Christians revelation about what he actually is!!! I was so shocked with it! And then what Jeff revealed to Clara at the end about their purposes!!! My jaw like seriously dropped by the end of this book with all that! Ahhh! So much happened in Hallowed! You definitely need to read it you liked Unearthly!

5 Stars!
