TBR Intervention is a weekly challenge hosted by Dani@RefractedLight, Anayami@Whatever You Can Still Betray & April@Books4Juliet.

The goal of this challenge is to help each other (fellow readers and bloggers) manage our enormous and constantly growing TBR (To-Be-Read) List. The rules are simple and everyone is encouraged to participate. It does not force you to commit to more than what you can manage to read in a week or so, but participants are encouraged to read at least one book within a week. You are free to choose the book you want to read and commit to this challenge. You may post your entry every Saturday, at the frequency of your choice--EVERY WEEK or EVERY TWO WEEKS. However, we will sponsor this event regularly every Saturday.

Here are the rules:

1. Post the book(s) you committed to read in your last TBR Intervention post and tell us something about it. Did you finish it? Did you enjoy it or not? Post the link to your review (if you have one).

2. Post a book that you want to read and already own. Pick something that has been sitting on your shelf for too long now (6 months or longer). Commit to read the book in the next couple of days or week.

3. Grab the TBR Intervention Button and post it on your blog sidebar so you will be constantly reminded of the challenge, making it easier for you to commit. This will also encourage other readers/bloggers/visitors to join the challenge.

Daemon from Obsidian!!! OMG!  I would absolutely love that. Like you have no idea!!! Either that or Zachary from the Shade Trilogy! That would absolutely make my day too! Hahaha!

TGIF is hosted by Ginger at GReads. There's a weekly question and then we do a re-cap of the weeks posts.

Q. Best I've Read So Far: We're half way through the year (crazy how time flies!), which top 3 books are the best you've read so far this year?

Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout, Insurgent (Divergent #2) by Veronica Roth & Dearly, Departed (Gone With The Respiration #1) by Lia Habel. I love love loved all of those so much!!!

Cover Reveal: Deep Betrayal by Anne Greenwood Brown

Blurb from Goodreads:
It's been thirty days, two hours, and seventeen minutes since Calder left Lily standing on the shores of Lake Superior. Not that she's counting. And when Calder does return, it's not quite the reunion Lily hoped for. Especially after she lets her father in on a huge secret: he, like Calder, is a merman. Obsessed with his new identity, Lily's dad monopolizes Calder's time as the two of them spend every day in the water, leaving Lily behind.

Then dead bodies start washing ashore. Calder blames his mermaid sisters, but Lily fears her father has embraced the merman's natural need to kill. As the body count grows, everyone is pointing fingers. Lily doesn't know what to believe—only that whoever's responsible is sure to strike again. . . .

I havent read Lies Beneath or even thought about it with all the reading and reviewing I need to catch up on but I do like the sound of this series. And I really like this cover! It is beautiful!

What are your thoughts on the cover? Let me know in the comments!

Waiting On Wednesday [#44]

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jill at Breaking The Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases we're eagerly anticipating.

34 Pieces Of You
Author: Carmen Rodrigues
Expected Publication: September 4, 2012

A dark and moving novel--reminiscent of "Thirteen Reasons Why--"about the mystery surrounding a teenage girl's fatal overdose. There was something about Ellie...Something dangerous. Charismatic. Broken. Jake looked out for her. Sarah followed her lead. And Jess kept her distance--and kept watch.

Now Ellie's dead, and Jake, Sarah, and Jess are left to pick up the pieces. All they have are thirty-four clues she left behind. Thirty-four strips of paper hidden in a box beneath her bed. Thirty-four secrets of a brief and painful life.

Jake, Sarah, and Jess all feel responsible for what happened to Ellie, and all three have secrets of their own. As they confront the past, they will discover not only the darkest truths about themselves, but also what Ellie herself had been hiding all along....

I really enjoyed Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher and this book is supposed to be reminiscent of it. It sounds really good and since I enjoyed Thirteen Reasons Why I think I will enjoy this as well. I really wanna know what the secrets all of them have hidden are and why they all feel responsible for her death.

What are you waiting on?

Cover Reveals: The Indigo Spell & Sever

Blurb from Goodreads:
In the first two books of the Chemical Garden trilogy, Wither and Fever, Rhine struggles to escape the mansion and then to navigate the brutal world outside. Now in Sever, the third and final book, Rhine uncovers some shattering truths about the past that her parents never had the chance to tell her and the alarming implications regarding her own genes. She may be the one who can save the human race.

I'm torn between this cover. I'm not the biggest fan of the green, I mean I like the color but its more the plainish background. But I love the rest of it. I'm really excited for this! I loved Wither and Fever and I'm so excited to see what happens to Rhine in Sever. Sever's expected publication is February 12, 2013!

No blurb yet. I haven't read the Bloodlines series yet since I haven't even finished the Vampire Academy series and I don't wanna start this one til I finish that one. But I do think this cover looks fantastic. I love the color! The Indigo Spell's expected publication is also February 12, 2013!

Top Ten Tuesday: Top Ten Characters Who Remind Me of Myself Or Someone I Know In Real Life

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish. It was created due to their love of lists.

This Weeks Topic Is:
Top Ten Characters That Remind Me of Myself Or Someone I Know In Real Life

1. Katy (From Obsidian) - First of all, she's a book blogger, which totally reminds me of me. Duh! She also wouldnt give into things which is something I am on the same page with her on. I'm not exactly one who will bend to peoples wills just cuz either. But also like Katy, when she went back to help Daemon even though he told her not to, I would have done the same. I'm not one to abandon someone I care about even if they act like a jerk sometimes.

2. Daemon (Also From Obsidian) - Daemon reminds me of my more than friend, less than boyfriend Josh. Daemon was so freaking hot and cold with his feelings for Katy and that is exactly how Josh is with me most of the time. But also like Daemon, all Josh has to say is something cute (like how Daemon would call Katy Kitten, he calls me Baby Girl) and I just melt again.

3. Hannah (From Thirteen Reasons Why) - I completely understood where she came from. She reminds me of me when I'm depressed. Because when I'm depressed its like things just pile and pile on top of each other to make things even worse than they were when things started. And that's what happened to her. I've also been in that place where I've though about actually doing what Hannah did. Now obviously I didn't (Because of certain people who showed me it wasn't worth it and that I have people who love and care about me (certain people include certain named boy above(Josh))) but I completely understood why she did.

4. Tris (From Divergent) - Just for the fact that she reminds me of me with all that being Dauntless. Ok, it was a big step for Tris to transfer to Dauntless from Abnegation but she did it and honestly, if I was in that spot I would have too. And that reminds me of me.

5. Hudson (From Bittersweet) - She reminds me of me with her love of baking! I love love love to bake and try n recipes and she's like me in that way!

6. Dee (From Obsidian) - Dee was like Katy's best friend, but also like a sister to Katy and that reminds me of my best friend Marissa. Because thats exactly how she is to me and I saw a lot of how me and Marissa are with each other in how Dee and Katy were with each other (minus the Alien part). Lol.

7. Tucker (From Unearthly) - He just reminds me of my friend David. With the horses, and the truck and his events. Everytime I think about Tucker I picture someone like my friend David.

8. Ana (From Incarnate) - She reminds me of me. Everyone judged her and thought bad of her because of what she was. And I definitely know how it feels to be judged. So I knew how she felt and it's not the best feeling.

Ok, so I can only think of 8 right now.

Review: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Obsidian (Lux #1)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publisher: Entangled Teen
Publication Date (Of Re-Release): May 8, 2012
Pages: 335
Source: Kindle Book/Loaned From Friend

Starting over sucks.

When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.

And then he opened his mouth.

Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.

The hot alien living next door marks me.

You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.

If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Review: OH MY GOD! Where do I even start with this book??? I am seriously in love with this book! Like no joke, this has seriously just became my favorite book! A book hasn't got me this hot & bothered, overly excited and just all around super fan girlish in a while! I couldn't put this book down! And OH MY GOD! Daemon! I'm not the only one who gets hot and bothered when he says "Kitten" right? I seriously couldn't control myself when he would say it! I seriously tried so hard to be mad at him when he was acting like a jerk but I couldn't despite my best efforts! Every time he said "Kitten" or just anything relatively nice my heart just melted!!! And all those times he was shirtless. Man, I had the most fun ever reading this book just because of those images in my head of him! All of you know exactly what I mean, you cant help but love picturing him! I like seriously could not get enough of Daemon!!! OK, I'll stop fangirling now. Lol.

Fantastic alien book! I haven't read any alien books (or at least I don't think I have yet) but if you have Daemon (there I go again, lol) or anyone remotely like him in them I will read it! I loved Daemon's devotion to keeping his sister safe, and then keeping Katy safe as well (even though that proved to be difficult at times). He might have been a jerk (even though that didn't faze me one bit) but when it came down to it he tried his hardest to protect those people he cared about (even if he didn't exactly show it). I also really loved Dee! Despite Daemon being the overprotective brother to her she held her own when she had to. She refused to let him ruin her friendship with Katy in the beginning and she also was an amazing friend to Katy! Katy! Hahahaha. I seriously love this girl! She wold not let Daemon get to her, or control her! She was stubborn and dead-set on what she wanted to do! And even though it wasn't the best or smartest thing to do sometimes, you still have to admire her for what she did and her strong will to not give into what Daemon wanted. She was also pretty brave and selfless too! Especially with what she did for Daemon and tried doing for Dee to protect them! OMG! This thing between them at the end (which you guys know is actually a few things)! Gahhh!!!! I like seriously need Onyx like right now to know what happens between them next! And I absolutely loved the powers the Luxen have!!! I mean seriously, Daemon's and Dee's powers are freaking amazing! Who wouldn't want to have those??? And just because, I seriously love how Katy is a book blogger! I know all of us in our community love that what we do is actually written into a character in a book! I mean how awesome sauce is that???

Just because I have to, I have to post one of my fave Daemon "Kitten" quotes!:
"In your dreams, Kitten." He smirked. "Oh wait, I'm already starring in those, aren't I?"

5 Stars!

Last weeks TBR book:
If I Die
Author: Rachel Vincent

I did finally read it! I really really enjoyed it! Definitely wanting Before I Wake now! I have no idea when I'll have my review up for you guys though! I'm like 4 reviews behind and at the moment If I Die's review is 4th in line. So maybe by next weekend? Oh, and remember my trip? I had a ton of fun on it! I'll be making a post about it (probably on my personal blog though) and I'll post the link to it so you guys can check out the fun I had at the Lake!

This week I'm committing to read:
Lola and the Boy Next Door
Author: Stephanie Perkins

Blurb from Goodreads:
Budding designer Lola Nolan doesn’t believe in fashion . . . she believes in costume. The more expressive the outfit -- more sparkly, more fun, more wild -- the better. But even though Lola’s style is outrageous, she’s a devoted daughter and friend with some big plans for the future. And everything is pretty perfect (right down to her hot rocker boyfriend) until the dreaded Bell twins, Calliope and Cricket, return to the neighborhood.

When Cricket -- a gifted inventor -- steps out from his twin sister’s shadow and back into Lola’s life, she must finally reconcile a lifetime of feelings for the boy next door.

I've had this on my shelf for probably about 7 months at least? I've been wanting so badly to read it but I just haven't made the time. And quite honestly I'm sick of looking at it and wishing I could fit it in. Now I'm making room for it! Lol.

Cover Reveal x3

Ok, so I was away on a trip since Tuesday night, so I missed posting these when they were revealed during the week. But since I'm excited for all three I thought I'd post them anyways even if it's a few days late. Lol.
No blurb yet but it's expected publication is January 22, 2013! I'm really excited for this! I loved Unearthly and Hallowed and I'm just so excited to know what happens next. So much changed in Hallowed and I really cant wait to see where the story goes! I love this cover too! I love the color and it will definitely go well with Unearthly and Hallowed on my shelf!

Blurb from Goodreads:
Perfect for the fans of Shatter Me who are desperately awaiting the release of Unravel Me, this novella-length digital original will bridge the gap between these two novels from the perspective of the villain we all love to hate, Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

In Tahereh Mafi’s Shatter Me, Juliette escaped from The Reestablishment by seducing Warner—and then putting a bullet in his shoulder. But as she’ll learn in Destroy Me, Warner is not that easy to get rid of. . .

Back at the base and recovering from his near-fatal wound, Warner must do everything in his power to keep his soldiers in check and suppress any mention of a rebellion in the sector. Still as obsessed with Juliette as ever, his first priority is to find her, bring her back, and dispose of Adam and Kenji, the two traitors who helped her escape. But when Warner’s father, The Supreme Commander of The Reestablishment, arrives to correct his son’s mistakes, it’s clear that he has much different plans for Juliette. Plans Warner simply cannot allow.

Set after Shatter Me and before its forthcoming sequel, Unravel Me, Destroy Me is a novella told from the perspective of Warner, the ruthless leader of Sector 45.

I'm so freakin excited for Destroy Me! I can't wait to read this novella from Warner perspective!!! I'm still not sure how I feel about this cover though. I mean I like this one but I'm not in love with it. Destroy Me's expected publication is October 2, 2012

No blurb yet but Unravel Me's expected publication is February 5, 2013! I can't even begin to describe how excited I am for Unravel Me! I've been dying for this to come out since before Shatter Me even officially came out! Lol. I need this book! And even though I'm not the biggest fan of these new covers for the books, I absolutely love this one! I just love the colors and how the eyelashes look. But definitely the colors, especially the pinkish clouds surrounded by pretty much blue and white! I can't get over how pretty this cover is!

What are your thoughts on all 3 covers? Let me know in the comments!

Cover Reveal: Everbound by Brodi Ashton

Blurb from Goodreads:
Two months ago, the Tunnels of the underworld came for Nikki Beckett. That night, Nikki's boyfriend, Jack, made the ultimate sacrifice. All Nikki wants is to save Jack before it's too late. All Cole wants is to find his queen - and he thinks Nikki is the one. Both determined, both desperate, Nikki and Cole form a tense alliance, leading them on a dangerous journey to The Heart of The Everneath.

I haven't read Everneath yet but I plan on it and I know a lot of you have and liked it so I figured many of you would be interested in this! I think this cover is absolutely fantastic! I like it 10 times more than the first one! The expected release of Everbound is January 22, 2013. What are your thoughts on the cover? Let me know in the comments!
